About Course

Creating Essays With the Writer’s Toolbox will give students the tools they need to craft well-written compositions. We’ll explore the connection between understanding grammar and producing solid written communication; learn and practice with the various tools in the writer’s toolbox that make clear, engaging writing possible; and learn how to create a strong five-paragraph essay (including timed essays – an important skill for college-bound students). Through hands-on and group activities, students will tackle common grammar problems, learn the process for planning and composing an essay of any length, and create a physical version of the writer’s “toolbox” which they can use to assist them with future writing. This class meets Tuesdays from 10:30 – 11:45 and will include daily homework as well.
