The Course:

What if we could learn the history of the world just by being creative once a week?  That is the purpose of this course! Each student will leave the class with a strong mental timeline of world history and their own personal book of art history which they have created. They will also earn two of the TEA Distinguished graduation recommended credits:  World History & an art elective.

The Teacher:

Thirteen years of teaching have taught me the value of having a mental timeline of world history. I started with a Bachelors of Science in Education, then really began learning about teaching as I homeschooled, diving into the beautiful philosophies of lifestyle learning and the rich resources of classical education.

For my entire life I have been drawing, painting and loving art. So this course is a marriage of my passions, a way for me to show students the world through some its most beautiful windows.

The Day-To-Day:

I love to tailor learning so please reach out with any question or concerns!

Each class will illuminate an aspect of history through the art of the time then give students hands-on ways to interact.

Each week will have one at-home assignment. Usually these will involve looking at a specific piece, analyzing it in writing and recreating it.
